Brian Mark, composer | How did this project come about?

Brian Mark and I first met through our collaboration online at SOSI 2020. I performed his work “Contact” for percussion trio through online collaborations and ever since then I’ve wanted Brian to bring his voice to the solo marimba. I recently recorded his Invocation for solo percussion (found in Listen Tab @ grosspercussion.com), and I’m beyond excited for what’s to come. Pillars of Creation will be a new kaleidoscopic type of work for solo percussion (or percussion quartet), influenced by the iconic image from the James Webb Space Telescope.
